Not my best painting, but I can't seem to fix the sky. At least I'm pleased with Shana's face-- a new landmark in my attempt to draw in a more realistic style. (Comparatively speaking!) Also, experimental lighting.
I have the impression that the (very very small) LoD fandom dislikes Shana. And likes Meru. (I can understand the first part but not the second.) She's not a useful fighter and constantly needs to be rescued.
The reason that I DO like her is because she's aware of her own weakness, and hates it. Throughout the game she tries her hardest to measure up to the ever-higher standard set by the other heroes, but her fragile body won't let her. To me she symbolizes the struggle of the entire game-- because, if you look back, the entire game is about not quite being good enough or fast enough to stop the bad guys, time and time again.
I could say far more, but that could be saved for another picture, more specific. This one is just because I loved the sequence of scenes on the Queen Fury, and imagined Shana and Rose spending an evening in the crow's nest, each lost in their own thoughts but not sorry for the company.
Lastly: I have always imagined Shana having freckles. *shrug*
Your coloring is gorgeous. Sadly I have never played the "game" (?) but I have to admit, the posture and feeling of the girl in front just tickles me a lovely shade of pink. <3
And even if she doesn't orginally have freckles... she should.

Oh, so THAT is the sky you were working on earlier.
It's lovely. I love their faces.
And yeah, Meru? FTL. As I told you earlier, she may hit harder than Shana, but she has the tendancy to die more often than Shana in my game (and that's despite being 3 levels above Shana and havingabout 20% more HP). And the obnoxious attitute does nothing to make me love her.

This is gorgeous, in my opinion. I love her face, and the colors you mixed and matched. The entire scene is well thought out and colored, and the emotion is no exception either!
Well done! I love your paintings

This is very well done picture and I have to agree with you, I really like Shana as a character, and not because hs kicks ass, but because she's all caring and whatnot! And like you said, she tries so hard, but never quite catches up..!
I like all three of those girls! When I get the chance in Lohan, after the Hero Match and before talking to the rest of party, I level up Shana to the point where she's with the rest of the group. Part of the reason she is weaker is because she misses to very important battles where everyone else levels up and she can't (Shirley's Shrine and Hoax). I could get into why I love the girls mentioned, but that's for a seperate place I guess. My journal maybe? I don't know.
Alot of people view it more as loving or hating Miranda or Shana. Shana because she might not be the best fighter right off the bat, and Miranda for replacing Shana (my old reason, but I've noticed that Miranda and Shana get along really well). I don't really know why people in general pit Shana against Miranda...It's weird. But if they payed attention, they'd realize exactly what I did.
